It has been a busy term with winter sports, events and particularly with enrolments for 2020. We have had a record number of enrolments for next year. This has meant having a wait list put in place. Liston continues to be a top choice as a boys school for parents in West Auckland.
I thank our staff for their continued good work and commitment in maintaining the high achievements and standards we expect.
Measles: so far we have not had any cases of measles at Liston College. However, as you will have seen in the media there has been significant spread of confirmed cases over the past few weeks.
If a student at Liston College is confirmed as having measles, they will be quarantined at home. If a student who has not had any MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccinations but has come into contact with someone who has measles, they are at risk of being quarantined at home. If a student has immunity, they will be able to come to school as usual. Please check your son’s immune status and see your doctor if you are concerned. Vaccination is free from your family GP and many Health Practices are actively calling children and teenagers to make sure that they are fully vaccinated.
For further information about measles, see the Auckland Regional Public Health Service website.
