Word from the Principal - 21 June 2019

Please do regularly visit our website for up to date news and events at the College. The website and school app are a key means of communicating to the College community.

Careers Evening:  Please do support the Careers evening being held on Wednesday, 26 June. Come along and explore career, training, tertiary, trades and gap year ideas. Around 50 organisations will be represented including all the main universities, NZ Police, Defence Force, trades plus many, many more. Browse the stands, ask questions and collect brochures.

Parent Teacher Evenings: Coming up on Wednesday 31 July and Thursday 1 August are the parent teacher evenings. On-line bookings will open on Monday 22 July. If you are unable to attend the evenings, you are welcome to make alternative arrangments to meet with your son's teachers.  The most effectivemeans is to use email to communicate. Staff emails are on the contact page of our website.

Scholarships: There are a number of scholarships available to Year 13 students who will be studying at tertiary institutions next year. If your son is in Year 13, encourage him to check the information from Mrs Shepherd. Some of these scholarships are worth significant sums of money and go a long way to paying tuition fees.

Tuck Shop On-Call Helper:  We have a need for somone to be our on-call tuckshop assistant. This is to fill in when our tuck shop lady is away. If you are interested in knowing more, please contact Maria De Souza.

Message from the NZ Police: NZ Police recently launched a new non emergency number, 105. We’ve done this to make it easier to get hold of us in the event of non-urgent situations or ‘Things which have Already Happened’, which don’t require Police assistance immediately. You can call us on 105 for all non emergencies, or you can go online at 105.police.govt.nz to report things like:

  •  Lost property
  •  Theft for a public place or car
  •  Intentional property damage
  •  Or to get an update or add info to a previous report

In the event of an emergency, always call 111 - Things that are Happening Now.

God Bless you and your families
