Winter sports are now well underway with the college competing in a number of sports. We encourage all our student to be involved in a co-curricular activity and there are still opportunities for your son to join Football, Rugby, Water-polo and Hockey teams. Please make contact with the Sports Department for more information if your son is interested.
1st XV Rugby
Following the win against Waitakere College the 1st XV has had some tough games against Kings College, Dilworth School and Sacred Heart College. The results have not reflected the huge effort the students and coaching staff have put in but more the strength of the 1A competition.
Premier Basketball
Another of our teams competing in the top Auckland-Harbour grade facing much larger schools. Last Friday’s game against St Kentigern College was their best performance of the year, only being outplayed in the second quarter. Outstanding performances from Rasheed Tahiru and Dhon Lao are to be celebrated.
1st XI Football
A mixed start to the season with a draw against One Tree Hill College, a win over Elim College and narrow loss to Orewa College. Highlight of the season so far is the two hat-tricks from Bronson Sammut.
1st XI Hockey
Have had an outstanding start to the season winning all 4 games, scoring 16 goals and yet to concede. The team is well led by Captain Jack Bonneywell. Next week the team take on Auckland Grammar and your support is appreciated.
In other grades we have had success with both rugby teams winning all their games. Year 9 Football and Junior Premier basketball are unbeaten. Out table top table tennis and badminton teams are also leading their competitions.
