In Term 2 Liston College entered 65 junior students into the Otago Maths Competition.
The annual competition is entered by over 4,500 students from across the country and tests students Mathematical and Problem-Solving Skills with some particularly challenging problems.
All our students competed well with some fantastic results from individual students.
Congratulations to Audric Puah (Year 9) and Felix Wang (Year 10) who received Distinction awards by finishing in the top 10% of students in their respective year levels – an outstanding achievement.
As well as these boys, 13 students received Merit awards, finishing in the top 50% of students in their year level. Congratulations to Kevin Tian, Riley Wang, Evan Ye, Thomas Bird, Rishaab Chandra, Andrew Chhy, Rico Fernandez, Theodore Ip, Gabe Joyce, Jonathan Nie, Brant Vincent Seno, Javier Soares and Prajin Subramaniam.
The next big event on the Maths calendar is the interschool Mathex Competition taking place later this term which we are entering four teams into. We look forward to letting you know about the success of our students.
