Pop-Up Vaccination Clinic

The District Health Board is working with us to offer a drive-through pop-up vaccination clinic for anyone in our community who has not yet had their first (or second) COVID-19 vaccination. As you know, the Delta strain of the virus is highly infectious, and the vaccine is the best way to keep our communities safe from COVID 19. We warmly invite you to drive Liston College, 69 Rathgar Road, Henderson, with your whānau any time from 10am to 5.00pm on Friday 22 October. You don’t need to book, just drive in.

The vaccination team will be at school wearing protective gear and taking all steps to keep everyone safe. You don’t need to leave your car or bubble, but we do ask that everyone wears a face covering.

If you or anyone in your bubble aged 12 and over is yet to be vaccinated, we welcome you to drive into school. The team will be ready to vaccinate all those in your car who want to join in!

Vaccine Webinar

Today I attended the Vaccine Science Webinar with Dr Michelle ‘Nanogirl’ Dickenson. I found it very informative and non-judgemental, and highly recommend it to all. She explained clearly the science behind the virus, as well as how the vaccine works, and also discussed how science and faith do not stand apart from each other. There is also an opportunity for you to have questions answered.

I encourage you to register for one of the webinars as noted below.

The next webinars are as follows:

Thursday 21st October 4pm and 7pm

Friday 22nd October 4pm

Please register your interest here.

Alert Level 3

As you are aware, Schools in the Auckland region will be continuing with online teaching and learning until further notice.

The Prime Minister has stressed the importance of students continuing to learn from home through the duration of Alert Level 3. Students in Years 11,12, and 13 are to remain home. Students in Years 7-10 are advised to stay home during Alert Level 3 – more detailed information can be found below.

Students in Years 7 to 10 are advised that they are to remain at home if possible, continuing their distance learning through the duration of Alert Level 3. Our teaching staff will not be on-site during Alert Level 3, and will continue to deliver their online lessons from home. The school will continue to work with families in terms of distributing hardcopy materials and in some cases, laptops.

For students that are unable to remain at home (only students of essential workers, where no suitable care arrangements are possible), supervision is available at Liston College with a roster of supervising teachers.   If your son will be attending school at this time, they must be registered prior to returning to school for health and safety reasons by emailing Mr McKenty.  Full details are here.
