Scrum Masterclass

A number of our U14 Rugby team attended a Scrum Masterclass session at Eden Rugby Club on Wednesday 26th April.

Run by the Auckland Rugby Union the courses focus on skill development sessions [run by experts in their field] for aspiring secondary school aged players.

The Scrum Masterclass session was led by Auckland and Manu Samoa player Jordan Lay with support from other "scrum masters" like Auckland Storm, Black Fern and 2017 World Cup Winner Eloise Blackwell and James Stevenson-Wright Talent Identification and Recruitment Manager at Auckland Rugby Union.

The session focused on scrum safety through strong shape, primers and technical aspects to be safe and successful in the art of Scrummaging.

It was a great night and development opportunity for the boys who really enjoyed the expert advice given by role models in our community.
