Prefects Retreat

On Thursday, February 15, 2023, the School Leaders of 2023 gathered at Bella Racha – Oratia for a prefect retreat. The retreat was facilitated by Mr Swann, Mr Hickey, and Mr Girven and aimed to enhance our communication skills, develop our leadership skills, and encourage team cohesion.

We discussed what an ideal leader looks like and the qualities that make a good leader. The facilitators guided us through this conversation, and we explored how we could use these qualities to achieve our goals as a prefect. It was an enriching conversation that helped us understand what kind of leader we wanted to be and how we could work together to achieve our goals.

In the middle of the retreat, our Principal, Steve Dooley, talked to us about the importance of having grit, courage, and influence as school leaders. He emphasized the need to persevere through challenges and not give up when faced with adversity. He also stressed the importance of using our influence in a positive way to make a difference in the school community.

On behalf of the Prefect team, we are excited to continue working together to make a positive impact on the school community. The skills and knowledge gained from this retreat will enable us to become better leaders and make a positive difference in the school and the community.
