On Friday 3rd February, 3 days later than planned, Liston staff and senior students were proud to welcome our new entrants into our school community.
Mr Dooley, Mr Girven and Miss Andrews had the pleasure of meeting and addressing our Year 7 cohort on their first day of the school year. Looking very smart in their new school uniform they were introduced to their Year 7 form teachers; Miss McQuaid (7J), Miss Shaikh (7K), Miss Tufala (7L) and Mr Bohte (7M). We loved having the energy and support of the students’ whanau, parents and caregivers which was evident as we all gathered together for the first time at the morning welcome. As ever we were pleased to see familiar faces belonging to Old Boys, and of brothers and cousins of past and present students. The boys spent the day getting to know each other and their form teacher, meeting Liston teaching staff, familiarizing themselves with their academic timetable, the school grounds, and other areas of school life with the help from our prefect team. Although the weather continued as it had all summer, the boys didn’t let it dampen their day or their enthusiasm.
We are pleased we were able to finally have our new entrants onsite and were impressed with their level of engagement. We wish them well on their journey to becoming Liston men, and look forward to them embracing the opportunities that Liston College has on offer during the next seven years of their school career.
Noho ora mai,
Phoebe Andrews
