On Tuesday, 22nd November, Liston College were privileged to spend the morning with year 5 students from St Paul's School, Massey.
The intention was to have the St Paul's Primary year 5 students involved, however, unfortunately they were unable to make it on the planned date.
Students arrived at the school chapel to begin their retreat and meet old boys of St Pauls, who are current year 10 students at Liston. Our Year 10 leaders, Jeydin Ale, Enji Victoriano, Max Stocker and Alan Apino enjoyed facilitating a range of sport activities to begin the morning, including a house chant competition. St Paul’s had fun touring the school grounds, and enjoyed a much needed break in the sun after a morning of excitement.
After lunch, the boys reflected on the past year and looked forward to the future; recording what they are joyful and hopeful for. We look forward to returning their retreat reflections to the boys who arrive at Liston College as a year 7 in 2025. Students from St Paul’s also created an illustration about their visit to Liston to hang on their Liston lanyard, and embraced the opportunity to ask questions about life at Liston College.
The St Pauls were a pleasure to have on site and we were impressed by their enthusiasm and participation. A huge thank you to St Paul’s for helping us foster our special connection with our younger brothers. This couldn’t have been possible without the help of Angelina Brayne, Marie Nelson, Jo Body-Soole and Vi Siasau. Thank you also to our year 10s who made the St Paul’s Year 5 boys feel welcome and comfortable for the day.
