Dear Parents and Caregivers

Welcome back to Liston College for 2017.  

We hope you had an enjoyable summer break.  A warm welcome to all new students and their families to our school.

Friday 28 January saw all Liston College staff on their annual retreat. This year it was held at Vaughan Park Retreat Centre at Long Bay. Brother Damien Price lead the retreat with his usual wisdom and humour focusing on our theme for the year and bringing alive the story of Edmund Rice.  The day finished with Father Kevin leading us in the celebration of the Eucharist.

School Roll
We now have a full school roll, having reached our maximum as set by the Ministry of Education.  We now have a waiting list for 2017.  Enrolments for 2018 will open in term two 2017.

NCEA Results for 2016
Students have achieved excellent results for NCEA in 2016.  I will share more details in the next newsletter.

Student Leadership
I am currently completing the selection process for student leaders.  We are fortunate that there are good candidates for the leadership positions.  I will announce these shortly.

Principal's Scholarship
Applications are now open for two Principal Scholarships of $1,000 each.  This is open to current Year 8 and Year 9 students. Full details and an application form are available from the school office, by emailing info@liston.school.nz or by clicking HERE. Applications close Friday 3 March 2017.

2017 Gala
The PTFA have started planning for the annual school Gala which is to be held on Saturday, 1 April 2017.  All proceeds raised from the Gala go back to the College for the benefit of all. If you know of a business, or have a business who would like to donate items, vouchers for services or who would like to sponsor a stall, please contact Julia Stuart : 09 833 3012.
