Dear Parents and Caregivers

February continues to be a busy month in the life of the school. OnWednesday, 17 February, the PTFA are hosting a BBQ for the students and families new to the College.This starts at 6.30pm. I look forward to meeting you there.  

The students are looking forward to the Athletics Days which are being held on Thursday 18 & Friday 19 February.  Parents are welcome to come along to support their son(s).

NCEA Results for 2015
Below is a table of our results for 2015. I have shown a comparison with national figures to show how successful Liston  College is in the NCEA achievements.  I would like to congratulate the staff and the students who have worked hard to achieve this level of achievement.  I look forward to our current NCEA students contributing to even better results this year.

Scholarships
We also had success in the Scholarship exams, with 12 Scholarships being received. Thomas Collocott received an Outstanding Scholarship in Photography.  Quinn Menton - Painting, Oliver Brook - Design and Visual Communication, Maxim Haddad - Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Neil Read - English, Accounting, Daniel Scherrer - Statistics, Michael Hoffman - Chemistry, Physics, Jordan O'Neill - Economics. Congratulations.

Year 8 Camp
I visited the Year 8 camp in Karapiro on Thursday.  The boys were having a fantastic time, being involved in many activities.  It has been a successful week for students and staff alike. I wish to thank Mr Lord and his team for the thorough organisation and supervision. I also wish to acknowledge the parents who gave up their time to assist with the camp. A few of the many photos are included in this newsletter.

2016 Gala
If you have any items suitable for the White Elephant stall at the gala, they can now be dropped off at the school.  If you have any queries, please contact Julia Stuart:09 833 3012.

Principal's Scholarship
Applications are now open for two Principal Scholarships of $1,000 each. This is open to current Year 8 and Year 9 students.  Full details and an application form are available from the school office, by emailing info@liston.school.nz or by clicking HERE. Applications close Friday 26 February 2016.
