Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome back to Liston College for 2016. We hope you had an enjoyable summer break. A warm welcome to all new students and their families to our school.
Year 7 Classes
Because of increased enrollments, there will be a new Year 7 class starting as from Monday 15 February. This means that if your son is in Year 7 he may change form class. This will mean class sizes will be lower, which benefits students and the teacher. If you have any queries regarding this, please contact the Year 7 Dean, Mr Swann: willie.swann@liston.school.nz
NCEA Results for 2015
Students have achieved excellent results for NCEA in 2015. I will share more details in the next newsletter.
Student Leadership
I am currently completing the selection process for student leaders. We are fortunate that there are good candidates for the leadership positions. I will announce these shortly.
Principal's Scholarship
Applications are now open for two Principal Scholarships of $1,000 each. This is open to current Year 8 and Year 9 students. Full details and an application form are available from the school office, by emailing info@liston.school.nz or by clicking HERE. Applications close Friday 26 February 2016.
Year 8 Camp
I wish the students well as they are away from home and school at Karapiro next week. Thank you to the parent helpers who have given up their time to assist with camp and for the organisation by Mr Lord and his team.
Congratulations
I congratulate the Liston College Touring XI Cricket team as they won the CBCW Tournament in Australia - the first New Zealand team to do so. A full report on the tour will be in the next newsletter. Well done boys and a big thank you to staff and parents who assisted and supported this tour.
