Jeff Paterson

Please keep Jeff Paterson, family and friends in your prayers. Jeff's funeral service will be held at the College on Saturday 3 September. Jeff was a student at Liston from 2005 to 2011 and had been suffering from melanoma since he was 16. He fought his illness right to the end, just as he campaigned so determinedly to have Pharmac fund Keytruda. He was a light to all who met him and will be sorely missed.
Field Development
The Board of Trustees approved work to be done on the #2 soccer field. The same work that went into the rugby field will go into the current #2 soccer field. This will become the #1 soccer field and the boys playing cricket will have the benefit of a new and improved outfield. The current #1 soccer field will be affected by the building of the proposed new gymnasium. I thank all of those football families for their patience whilst we have worked though the drainage issues.
Secondary Teachers Paid Union Meeting
On Monday, 12 September the school day for senior students (Years 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13) will end at 12.10pm. Students in Years 7 and 8 will have normal classes in the afternoon, finishing at 3.20pm. Buses will run at their normal time.
Congratulations
Congratulations to the 1st XV who reached the final of the 1B Competition. They played Tamaki College at Eden Park on Saturday 20 August. Despite the boys giving their all, the game ended in a draw. We look forward to the promotion / relegation game at the start of next season.
Congratulations too, to the Junior Basketball team who got through to the final of the National Tournament in Rotorua. The future of basketball at Liston College continues to be bright.
God bless you and your families.
