Dear Parents and Caregivers
Winter is certainly upon us, with the wet weather arriving. We are aware the Liston jacket is only shower proof, however to avoid getting soaking wet the boys are allowed to wear rain coats to and from school. Many boys bring umbrellas to school for use around the grounds. On wet days there are classrooms open for students to be in out of the rain as well as outside shelter. Please encourage your son to make use of these spaces. Non uniform jackets or rain coats are not permitted to be worn during school hours. For extra warmth, students are allowed to wear thermals under their shirt, as long as it cannot be seen.
1st XV Rugby
It was good to see the 1st XV being able to play their first home game of the season on the redeveloped rugby field.... and come away with a win. Despite the terrible weather the surface stood up very well to the usual pressures from two competitive teams.
Liston College Old Boys
The Liston Old Boys' Society meet every first Wednesday of the month in the College boardroom at 6:30pm. New Old Boys are most welcome to attend. The Old Boys' Society are running a Quiz Night on Saturday 23 July. This year it will be held at the West Harbour Tennis Club. Details of the evening are included in this newsletter.
Lost Property
There is a large amount of lost property that will be displayed in the Senior Quad next Monday and Tuesday. Please encourage your son to look through the items.
Father Son Breakfast
We are excited to announce that our 2016 guest speaker is Dillon Boucher, current General Manager of the Sky City NZ Breakers and former NZ Basketball representative. Do save the date, Saturday 10 September, to attend the event. Further details will be available next term.
God bless you and your families.
