Dear Parents and Caregivers
Pompallier Shield
On Wednesday 25 May, Liston College hosted 13 Catholic secondary schools from the Auckland Diocese for the Annual Pompallier Shield. This is where schools compete in oratory and scripture readings. Despite the weather, the evening was very successful. Thank you to Mrs Cathrine Skelton and her team for a successful event, feedback was only positive. With the calibre of the students who took part, it is clear that Catholic schools will be making a huge contribution to the future of the country.
Staffing
Next week sees two staff members moving on from Liston. We farewell Mrs Selvarani Williams (English) and Mr Grant Rothville (Lab Technician) and wish them all the very best for the future. We give a warm welcome Mrs Stephanie Dalton who will be the new English teacher and to Mr Glenn Wagemans who jointed the Humanities Department earlier this term. Mr Wagemans comes to us from Belgium.
Board of Trustees
The May Board meeting was the last of the present Board. I would like to thank Danny Sutcliffe, Susan Gifford, Bruce Brooking, Carlo Dinglasan and Jason McLennan for their contribution to the Board over a number of years. Their expertise and commitment has left a good foundation for the new Board to build on.
Save the Date
Saturday 10th September is the confirmed date for our Annual Father and Son Breakfast. Our special guest and speaker will be announced shortly.
Student Safety
A reminder that the school front entrance and road way at the end of the day gets very busy and congested. In the interest of student safety, driving into the school between 3.00pm and 3.30pm is not permitted. I ask that this is respected.
God bless you and your families.
