Dear Parents and Caregivers
Polyfest
The Samoan Group performed at the Auckland Secondary Schools' Maori and Polynesian Cultural Festival. The group did not win any prizes, but competed with skill and pride. The performance was the culmination of many hours of dedicated practice by a wonderful group of students and their tutors. Thank you to Mr Fotu, Mr Swann, Ms Takeda and Mr Filipo. Well done everyone.
Parent Teacher Evenings
I would like to encourage you to attend our Parent/Teacher evening to discuss with the subject teachers any concerns you may have, or to clarify what steps you can take to extend your son. For senior students, it is an opportunity to find how they can best attain the necessary credits on offer in their particular subjects. For all students, it is about helping them to achieve personal excellence. Information on booking an interview is included in the newsletter.
Board of Trustees Elections
Please give thought to putting your name forward to be a member of the Board of Trustees. The election takes place in June, with nominations opening in May. For information about being a member of the Board, go to the School Trustee website : CLICK HERE.
Gala
The PTFA ran another successful Gala which made a profit of over $15,000. This will go towards projects that our boys will benefit from. Thank you to Julia Stuart and her team for all their hard work, our sponsors for their generosity in supporting the school and to the staff for their involvement with the Gala. We could not have such a worthwhile fundraising event without the commitment and support of these people. Thank you also to the Liston College community for coming along on the day.
God bless you and your families.
